CEDAW Rising is delighted to announce the membership of its Advisory Board—a group of exceptional leaders who bring diverse expertise in intersectional gender justice, movement building, legislative advocacy, strategic communications, data-driven systemic change and, of course, local CEDAW implementation.
Chelsea Mutual, J.D.
Chelsea Mutual is a gender justice attorney with experience spanning appellate courts, complex litigation, and frontline advocacy for reproductive rights and survivors of gender-based violence. She has worked with the San Diego County Commission on the Status of Women & Girls since 2023, supporting county-wide CEDAW efforts.
Amy Nantkes, Ph.D.
Dr. Amy Nantkes is a Professor of Political Science, specializing in movement building and data-driven social justice. She is part of the team leading implementation of San Diego County’s CEDAW ordinance to advance gender equity and human rights.
Jenni Prisk (Advisory Board Chair)
Jenni Prisk is a strategic communications leader and longtime champion of local CEDAW implementation. She is the former Chair of the San Diego County Commission on the Status of Women & Girls and the Association of California Commissions for Women. Jenni played a key role in the adoption of San Diego County’s CEDAW ordinance and continues to support Commissioners in overseeing its implementation.
We are honored to work alongside this group as we build the next phase of local CEDAW implementation in the United States and beyond.
